You can use any yarn and hook but for this snail shown the following materials were used.
- DMC Petra 3 in green
- DMC Petra 3 in white
- Scraps of thin black yarn
- 1.4 mm crochet hook
- Toy stuffing
W = white
G = green
B = black

MAIN BODY
Round 1.
Using W and a 1.4mm crochet hook, work 10sc into a magic circle, pull to tighten, sl st to join - (10)
Rounds 2 - 11
1sc in ea st around - (10)
Round 12
*1sc in next st, 2sc in next st* repeat from * until end - (15)
Rounds 13 - 15
1sc in ea st around - (15)
Stuff your snail body at this point.
Round 16
*sc2tog* repeat from * until last st, 1sc in last st - (8)
Round 17
*sc2tog* repeat from * until end - (4)
Fasten off leaving enough yarn to sew up remaining gap and thread remaining yarn through head to back of neck (see photo)
SHELL SIDE (make 2)
Round 1
Using G and a 1.4mm crochet hook, work 10sc into a magic circle, pull to tighten, sl st to join - (10)
Round 2
2sc in ea st around - (20)
Rounds 3 - 4
1sc in ea st around - (20)
FINISHING
Fasten off and sew your two shell sides together using remaining yarn, making sure to stuff your shell before you close.
Sew your completed shell onto your snail body making sure to wrap the body around the shell. The yarn you threaded through the head of your snail earlier can now be sew through the shell and out through the tail.
Using B, sew some eyes making sure to angle the eye slits downwards (upwards make him look a bit evil).
Using W, sew a short strand through each side of the snail head, cut to length to make the antenna.
And you're done!
